Turntable.fm: What It Should Have Been

What It Should Have Been is a series that takes a look at popular Android applications and how they should/could have been designed to meet the Android Design Guidelines.

Our previous redesigns that we looked at were created by other developers/designers, while this is our first attempt at redesigning the application ourselves.

What is wrong with the current application design?

  • Use of iOS icons
  • Use of rounded corners

  • Use of right hand carets
  • Search using significant screen real estate as opposed to being in the action bar
  • Lacking long press options, and use of left/right swipe navigation
  • Use of fake leather look…
